Oak faced Tongue & Groove Wall Panelling

Our oak-faced tongue-and-groove panelling is the closest you will get to a solid oak T&G panel without using solid oak. Despite its MDF core, the grooves blend well with the natural colour of the face making it very difficult to tell apart from the real thing.

To complement your panelling, we also produce a solid oak, rebated dado rail that is perfect for oak tongue and groove, oak slat wall and our oak bead & butt products

You can seal the panelling and the dado using any suitable wood-based products such as oil or water-based PU lacquers. If you are planning on using a wood dye, we would recommend you try it on one or more of our free samples.

The grooves are 6mm wide x 3mm deep with six standard pitch variants including 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 120mm, 150mm and 200mm.

How to order Oak faced T&G Panelling Cut to Size

Our oak faced T&G is available in full sheets and two cut to size options, one for ordering panels cut to fit your walls and the other for ordering individual cut to size panels.

Option 1: Enter your wall dimensions

To order your panels to fit your wall, select our Wall Size option. You can then enter your desired panelling height and then the overall width of your wall. We will take your dimensions and work out the optimum number of panels and ensure the end spacings are equal and optimised for size.

To add a second wall, add the first wall to your basket and then start the process again. If it is an adjoining wall, you will need to remove the thickness of the panelling from the overall length.

When ordering via this method, we assume the grooves will run vertically from floor to ceiling.

Option 2: Individual panel sizes

To order individual, cut to size panels, please select the Panel Size option and simply enter the dimensions you require for each panel.

You will also need to select the orientation of the panels, remembering that portrait orientation is tall and slim and landscape is short and wide

Whichever ordering method you choose, please ensure you select your preferred thickness and the pitch of the groove. We will ensure the spaces are centred and equally spaced along the board.

Installation and aftercare

You can install the wall panelling using a high-grab wall panelling adhesive. If additional support is required, then fine pins driven half their length into the groove would be the best option. Once the adhesive has dried, you can remove the pins and fill the small holes with an oak-coloured interior wood filler.

You can seal the panelling and the dado using any suitable wood-based products such as oil or water-based PU lacquers. We would strongly recommend that you do this immediately after installation.

The MDF v-grooves should be sanded prior to the first and second coats of lacquer or varnish.
If you are planning on using a dye, we would recommend you test it on a sample beforehand. We can supply small samples for testing if required.

FAQs

Absolutely, we would recommend you use an interior water-based PU varnish as they are hard wearing and quick drying.
