Oak veneered black MDF Tongue & Groove Panelling Packs
Our oak veneered black MDF panelling packs have been created with convenience in mind particularly in relation to their handling and shipping compared to full size panels.
Their narrow width avoids courier width restrictions allowing them to be sent to any mainland UK location whilst the ease handling helps to minimise the risk of damage.
To ensure the most flexible and cost-effective options these beautiful oak veneer panels are offered in three sizes, 2400mm x 600mm, 1200 x 600mm and 1000mm x 600mm. The design of the panels means they can be fitted together, side by side, with no noticeable join.
Another feature of our panels is the choice of groove spacing (pitch) options we provide as standard. This allows you to choose otherwise bespoke spacing to create a unique look

Installing Veneer Faced Black Dyed T&G Panelling
Installing veneer faced tongue and groove panelling is a little more tricky than paintable T&G panelling as it cannot be screwed, filled and painted. Having said that, it is likely that adhesive alone will be OK.
To ensure the best possible chance of success we would recommend that you score the back of the panels and the wall to provide a key and improve adhesion. A light coat or two of SBR or PVA on the wall will also help, especially on older dusty walls.
If you do find that your panels are not sticking to the wall, fine panel pins driven at an angle through the grooves and partially into the wall should do the trick. Once the adhesive has dried the pins can be removed and the holes filled with a black wood filler.
An alternative to pins would be to apply temporary pressure to the panels using pieces of furniture, step ladders, planks of wood etc leant against the panels in strategic places. Naturally you will need to protect the panels from any potential damage.

FAQs
Is the face real oak?
Yes.
Does this panelling need to be sealed?
Ideally yes. Doing so will protect it from greasy finger prints and the ingress of dust etc.
What lacquer can I use?
We would recommend a water based PU varnish although any interior water based or oil based lacquer/varnish would be suitable.
Are the panels moisture resistant?
No. Two coats of Lacquer/varnish all round will protect the panels from moisture.
Can the distance between the grooves be altered?
Yes, we can set the distance between the grooves to any distance you wish.
Do you provide a top trim for half height wall panelling?
Yes. We can supply either a black dyed or solid oak dado rail upon request.
