FAQ's

What is Valchromat?

Valchromat is an engineered coloured-throughout MDF made using organic dyes and resins for increased strength, durability, and moisture resistance.

Do coloured MDF panels need painting?

As the colour goes all the way through the board they are not intended to be painted; however, they should be sealed with a clear lacquer/varnish or wax finish to seal and protect them. If you want to paint your wall panelling choosing a design from our paintable wall panelling range would be a more cost effective option.

Can I order custom sizes or shapes?

Absolutely. Every panel is CNC-cut to order and can be cut to any size or shape upon request. Send us your dimensions, sketch or CAD drawings and we’ll quote accordingly.

Do you offer a click and collect service?

No. Whilst you are welcome to collect, our panels are made to order and will, depending on current stock and workload, will take at least a week or so to turn around.

Are coloured MDF panels moisture-resistant?

Yes. Valchromat boards are moisture-resistant, making them suitable for kitchens, bathrooms and similar areas prone to humidity.

Do you provide free samples?

We can provide free samples of the colour. Actual samples of the profile will depend on whether or not we have the colour and thickness you require in stock at the time of your request, if we do they will also be free of charge. On a positive note, we usually have the most popular colours in stock.

Can coloured Valchromat wall panelling be used outside?

No, unfortunately not. Whilst they are moisture-resistant they are not waterproof or weather resistant. If you are looking for an outdoor solution please visit our outdoor wall panelling product page.
